Is my exchange access secure?
Your coins stay on Binance. CryptoBud only accepts trade-only API keys with withdrawals off. Keys live on your private cloud box, not in the iOS app.
Your coins stay on Binance. CryptoBud is not a wallet. It does not hold your coins, and nobody on our side is sitting on your balance. The bot can trade. It cannot cash you out.
Trading access only — no cash-out key
For live trading, CryptoBud checks your Binance API key before it will use it.
- Spot trading must be on (so the bot can buy and sell)
- Withdrawals must be off — if a key can send money off Binance, CryptoBud refuses it
So the bot can trade under your plan. It cannot use that key to pull funds to a bank or another wallet.
Keys stay on your cloud box
Your Binance secret lives on your private cloud box — in locked-down files. The iOS app does not store your exchange key. It talks to CryptoBud with a separate login token.
That cloud box is yours alone — not a shared pile of everyone’s credentials.
Locked to your trading IP
Binance requires an IP when you turn on trading permission. We email you that IP for your CryptoBud cloud box. You paste it when you create the key, then put the key in the app.
So the key only works from your box — not from random places on the internet.
Keep the usual exchange hygiene too: 2FA on the account, and rotate the key if you ever worry it leaked.
What CryptoBud can and cannot do
- Can: buy and sell Spot under the plan you set (including while you sleep), show clear reports, and keep you informed on the go
- Cannot: withdraw your coins off the exchange with that key, or act as a custodial wallet
Paper mode needs no keys at all — practice first. Live mode uses real money on your Spot balance. How to start live trading →
Overlays like Cryptohopper, Bitsgap, 3Commas, and Stoic AI keep coins on the exchange too — and store the API key on their cloud. CryptoBud keeps the key on your box. How we compare →
